Helping those who cannot help themselves

Meet Jonathan!

Now that the busyness of Christmas is over, we’d like to introduce you to some of our new sponsor kids!  We’ve recently received several short biographies of the children we are supporting at Bethany, which we will be sharing over the next several weeks.

Many of our sponsor kids are sweet young kids who have unfortunately been through a lot.  Some of these children have heart-wrenching stories, but it is important to remember that they have a safe and loving home and are well cared for by the Bethany Village team.  Continue to pray for them as they grow, heal and flourish in their loving environment.  Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan.

Jonathan SemakulaJonathan was abandoned by his mother who was mentally unstable in April 2013.  The case was reported to a nearby police post by local residents. According to the local residents, the mentally unstable mother had come to the area with the child from an unknown origin. One of the residents kept Jonathan for close to four months as Police were investigating to find who the mother of the child was but after a series of announcements in Newspapers and local Radio station, no one showed up. After the investigations produced no positive results, police placed the child under the
care of Loving Hearts Babies Home, a sister Home to Bethany Homes what takes care of abandoned infants/babies. As he reached school going-age, he was referred to Bethany Children’s Home to be able to attend school.

It is assumed that Jonathan was born in September 2012 and so it is estimated that he is 6 years.
